I don't know if this is exactly the right forum to place this but thought it was fitting in a way. I'm learning PSE currently and am struggling with what my photos need for editting. This is a SOOC shot. I feel it is a pretty good representation of what my photos general look like SOOC. However, I don't know where to begin with editting my photos. So please critique this for color and lighting. And post what you would do to edit it. Thanks so much for any feedback.

Color balance is too blue. Shoot a gray card, shoot in Raw and your color balance problems will be history (assuming you have Photoshop.) For now you're stuck with fiddling with it in Ps. Crop is rather tight. The skin on her upper chest is brighter than her face. I would darken it down. Otherwise nice shot!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to start shooting in RAW now that I have a RAW convertor with PSE. I'm hoping that will help with me visualizing white balance, I understand the concept, I'm just having a hard time seeing it in more subtle hues. (And a gray card is on my next list of wants). I didn't even see the glare on her upper chest before and now that is all I can see. LOL That and the big wrinkle in her black shirt.

So I have been playing around with shooting in RAW and WB issues. Here is a photo I took a few days ago and was wondering if I have fixed the WB correctly or not. (Disregard the arm that is cut off and the dog hair all over her shirt LOL)
![]() Thanks!
