I took my little cousin out to take a few shots to give to her mama for mother's day.
What I am wondering about this picture is, what could I have done to brighten it up? Would a flash have helped? How is the composition? Is the picture frame more distracting than anything? Are the colors ok? And could it be cropped better? Thank you! http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/...ea83b94a_b.jpg EXIF: f/2.2 ISO-100 1/800 |

I like it.. good idea, exposure seems to be spot on, focus seems to be on her face correctly (careful about shooting with such a fatty aperture though, I wish it would have been a smidge more DOF to keep both her hands in focus and not just one of them) , but just a couple things I would have done differently.
I find that rusting metal.. whatever it is on the right of the frame quite distracting, I would have moved the lil runt over a few feet so that wasn't in the frame anymore. I also would have gotten her to shimmy her hands down a couple inches so her head was a little more to the center of her picture frame she is holding, which would also bring her hair into it. AAaaaaand possibly I would have given her a smaller picture frame or backed up a bit so as not to cut off the bottom of the picture frame. I just feel that the main fraiming element of the photo should be intact. But maybe it's just me The metal can easily be cloned out and personally I would try to warm her up a bit as she is a little bit too cool in contrast to the other very bright colors in the photo, but I think it would be a pretty nice shot from there afterwards.

Thanks for your input! I am not very good at photoshop at all, but I am learning so I'll give it a go. And will definitely take the posing tips into account. I tend to get caught up when I am taking pictures and forget things like moving the hands
