i really like this shot. I like how you exposed this and the B&W conversion. There is detail in her top and his shirt, the blacks bottom out but i think leaving the slacks/pants with no detail is perfect. The sun giving some edge lighting to her belly between her hands that draws my attention there. If anything, I might burn down the space between their chests ever so slightly and ditto with his shirt tail - -but it really doesn't need it - i really like it just as you have presented it. excellent.

I'm actually not wild about the conversion - it's kinda muddy. Hard to tell without your EXIF (see the rules for the critique section) but it looks like you exposed for the sky and the subjects are underexposed, and in the conversion the whites are not white but grey, and the skin is quite dark. Not sure about the pose, either - the way dad's hands and arms are looks almost aggressive, like he's pushing her away. The bright spot of light on mom's arm is a little distracting, too.

I do like the perspective and crop, though, it tells a story.

Nice shot - I like the B/W, too!

The only thing that bothers me a little is that I see extra background to the left of her, but not to the right of him. So, they appear to be off-centered. This seems like it would be a nice shot if the background was evenly positioned in the frame, so I would suggest cropping a little to make them appear more symmetrical!
