Default Crop and Post Critique

This is lil Colton. I included a link to the original sooc shot. Seeking comments on what you might have done differently (crop, color, contrast, etc) or suggestions for improvement. Thanks.

What a face!!!! So stinkin' cute!

Skin tones are a little off, I'm seeing a lot of red. The background's a little busy, too (though I see why you cropped from the original - can you crop it so his eyes are a bit higher in the frame instead of centered?)

Curious if you did work on his eyes - they seem a little oversharpened to me?

Otherwise I think it's adorable.

Perfect...just the kind of info I am looking for! Thanks!!! I will make some adjustments.
Yes on the eye sharpening... i'll rework the edit and use a lighter touch.
Thanks again Susan

I like how effective the DoF was in isolating the subject from the background. The cropping was enough yet I would have cropped the photo tighter to totally remove the neck past of the person in the background.

The image is well composed after your crop though.

I immediately notices the eyes and it don't look natural to me. I thought my eyes were defective until I saw the original. The sweater I think is too vibrant or saturated.

The image conveys the emotions of the baby. You captured this moment perfectly. If he were my child, I will have this on an 8x12 frame.

Rick

Thanks! I appreciate your feedback. I think i'll try a couple different versions including your suggestion of a tighter crop. Maybe i'll go crazy and even try a B&W conversion.
Thanks again.

reworked...
didn't change the skin tone or color, left the saturation and vibrance alone. Toned down the eye sharpening /brightening. Changed the crop so the eyes are on the first 1/3 horizontal

I like it better - thanks Susan and Rick for the direction.
