I must confess I find this shot veeeery soft. Maybe too much, but the pose is effective so keep trying...

The black and white conversion is a little too weak, you could try to boost contrast, but not too much.

This is just my humble opinion...and I hope it helps you.

it is too soft/oof. You might want to play with it a bit and make it even softer. As it stands now it looks out of focus (bad) but make it softer/dreamier and it suddenly becomes ...art! ha!
Seriously, I like the image, I think it maybe worth a try...

Agreed that it's very soft and OOF, and I'm not digging the conversion - it's very grey/muddy. Do you have others from the session that are more in focus?

Cute baby bump!

Default is this better? ? ?

ya i do have others that are in more focus. but i like the hand positioning and sheet positioning in this one the best ...wouldn't ya know it lol. so i decided to post it here in case i could get some cc on how to fix it lol. i usually just post stuff i am unsure about in here for some reason...but anyway

i tried sharpening and added a different contrast and color? do you think this looks better? if not i might try making it softer and dreamy...i like that idea a lot . so if this don't work i'll try the dreamy softer feel and if that don't work I'll choose one that is in focus that i liked the pose less lol ... oh the joys of making decisions in photography lol.

Unfortunately when a photo is OOF in camera, there's no way to sharpen it so it looks in focus. It's a bummer and a main reason I toss photos.

I like the 2nd edit, though - the warm/sepia works quite well IMHO and I'm not even usually a fan of sepia - this is done nicely, though, the color is subtle. Me likey.

thanks susan and everyone for the advice . i am just starting out so i probably spend too much time trying to "save" photos just because i like the pose better, but i'll probably get over that after striking out on a few after some time passes lol :P

one more thing....i seem to be having a real hard time getting good bw conversions. any insight on to what makes a good conversion?

Take a look at this thread. I did a conversion and explained it step by step.
