Default Tea anyone?

I took a series of shots to make an invitation for my daughter's tea party. I really like this one, but it bugs me that you can't really see her face. Also, did I go too far with the PP. I really wanted a whimsical look. This was late afternoon, and the sun had gone behind a cloud. Feel free to be tough, my family is much too nice. There is so much to learn! I have really been enjoying reading all of the critiques on this site and appreciate the vast knowledge available here.

I like the photo for an invitation. Not vital you can see her face if you're inviting people over with this photo.

Ditch the vignette though. Just don't like it even though it's not very pronounced.

I really like it - the whole feel of it is just spot on, and in this case I actually like the vignette

I really love this and think it works very well for an invitation. I like the vignette and the texture too. The one thing that I think could have made this even better would be to have her wearing more of an oversized costumey dress instead of one of her own. I love that she is wearing a pair of your heels (is there anything cuter than a little girl in Momma's heels?) and wish that the grass wasn't hiding them so much. Overall, a keeper of a shot and one that she will treasure for years!

I really like the PP here! I think this is too terribly cute, and my mom has pictures of me doing this exact same thing when I was little! :-O

I do wish you could see her face, but everything else is great! I love the PP and the vignette in this case. I didn't notice the high heels until it was mentioned, which is too bad, but it's kinda fun that there are little hidden details like that. Love it!

Thanks everyone for your comments. I guess the vignette is really a matter of taste.

I agree about the grass hiding the shoes. Next time I will pay more attention to the details

SUCH a cute image! It will make an adorable invitation. To add my 2 cents...I think the photo is slightly crooked/slanted down on the right side. Maybe it's my eyes...

Also, the processing is just okay to me. I like the vignette, but think a bit more vintage processing and tighter crop would make a big difference.

ETA a playful edit to show what I would do w/ it. Cropped & straightened, added blue and peach color fill layers, bumped up midtones in curves, and also did strong s-curve in separate curves layer, then added texture...I'll happily take it down if you prefer.

Thanks Aimee, I really like what you did with curves. Definitely gives it more depth. I need practice and some tutoring with using curves. I didn't notice it was a little crooked until you pointed it out.
