Ok so this is a photo of a very good friend of mine. We decided to do some window shots and played around with a sheet and her white curtains. I really love the picture, but I want to know if there is anything I can do to better it. The coloring is for an old school look because my friend loves the world of vintage.
Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T1i Shutter: 1/100 Aperture: 4.5/f ISO: 400 Focal Length: 32mm Flash: Off Editing: - Coloring - Level adjustments - Burning shadows - Dodging highlights

As much as I love the right side of the picture, I don't think the left one does the job. That lack of second eye in this particular pose ruins it for me a little, I would leave more details in her face

I'm positive when you saw this with your "normal" eyes you saw LOTS of detail in the shadow side of this image. As I have mentioned before our eyes see 1.4 million colors and our eyes have the ability to differentiate about 12000 different shades from pure white down to pure black. The sensors in most DSLR cameras can record about 40 colors and about 25 shades. Every photographer must learn to shut off his normal brain and eyes when he or she picks up the camera and turn on their photographic brain and eyes.

It's a great shot, but I agree there needs to be at least a little detail in the far left of the image. See what just a slight shadow/highlight adjustment does for it - without ruining the mood?
