My First PROPER portrait session

Hiya guys, this is my first time hear on the forum... I have been taking a look at the topics that have interested in, and it looks like fun. Would really appreciate any comments you could give me... I had so much fun doing this shot with my 2 best friends... but it was my first REAL session so please pop over to my flickr page and leave a comment

Your BW conversion in the first is pretty flat, but the second color photo is gorgeous! The only nitpick I have about that one is the shadows on her right side - they're distracting and look a little like they're growing out of her head and hair. If you can get rid of those, you're golden.

I agree with Susan, the BW is missing something. I think a little more contrast would help. Aside from that I like it...don't mind the hot part by her head either, I'm sure someone will pipe up about that, but I think its fine. not sure about that texture though. how did you blend it?
