Default The Wind in her Hair

The wind in her hair

I'm rather new at taking digital photography as a serious hobby, and would like some feedback on this photo I got lucky on and caught of my daughter. I like the subdued wildness (if you will), especially in b/w. The original was in color, I did the post in Aperture 3 with a b/w - red filter effect.

Nikon D60
AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED
ISO 400
Aperture f5.6
Shutter 1/2000
Aperture Priority

Thanks for any technical suggestions, framing, or comments of the photo itself. I would really like to get better at this, especially with b/w photography -- which I really enjoy.

I like the composition. Might like a little more room on the right side of the frame...

..i think you just got a little unlucky with the white blob. I would have cloned/healed it out. Given its so out of focus, it shouldnt be too hard to make it pretty. as it stands right now, once I noticed it, it killed it for me.

Focus is nice and tight, nice texture in the hair, the shadow over the eye isnt a worry for me, though I think someone will mention it, especially with the chest looking so hot.

Thanks for the comments and recommendations. I'll take a shot at photoshopping out the blob (I think it's actually a person, I shot this at my son's soccer tournament).

A little more hair would be magnificent to this stunning moment. Do work on the framing part.

Thanks Big Cat. Wish I could've grabbed more hair, because I think that is what makes the shot magical in a large way. However, this wasn't posed, it was a moment I caught. But agreed, even in those "moments" I need to be more mindful of the framing and the surrounding scenery,

I really enjoy this photograph. Many good things have been mentioned already so I will skip past those and mention the only thing that hasn't been addressed that I think should be. The loss of detail in the hair trailing behind her. I wish the shadow did not block up so much, but it is not a show stopper, just something to keep in mind in future creations.

Again, I just want to say you show real talent in that photograph. Keep shooting and creating.
