This is my first post. I usually don't share any of my art, photos, drawings, or paintings (i am a chicken) but my husband has encouraged me to get feedback from others. What do you think of the composition?

cute kid.
Composition is neither great or bad. I have a hard time with composition myself. The catch lights look strange to me, almost like they were added in. I agree with your husband, learn and grow. edit- I would remove the catch light near the center of the pupil. There is already a decent catch light at the top of eye

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with the removing the catch light. I don't mind your leaving up your edited version. By looking at it compare to the original one I see that the catch light is very distracting, to me any way.

What I noticed the first thing when looking at the picture is what gorgeous eyes this baby has. You did a very good job at capturing them
!! I think you captured the sweetness of a surprised, sweet, big eyed baby.I would like to see the picture in color. I am sure those eyes will pop! You seem to have lost some detail in the blanket covering the baby. If you lost it while brightening the picture, you can try to use a mask and focus on the baby only and not the blanket. I would 'clone out'/'heal' some spots on the face a bit - around his nose, and under his left eye. But all in all, I think you did very well for a first baby shot!
