Default Can you capture a 2 year old (or their personality)?

I'm not really new to photography but I'm new to caring what others think of some of my images. I was reading Elizabeth Halford's article about capturing personality and my son's 2nd birthday was right around the corner. So I set out to attempt to have one image that really captures him.
Now, that being said, I'm not sure if I can only see his personality in this picture because I've actually captured it or if it's because I'm his mom and I think every picture of him is adorable.
I'd also like some feedback on the focus. I have a hard time pinpointing focus like other people in these forums are able to (maybe I should get my eyes checked) and my husband has given me some constructive criticism on other sessions I've done regarding focus.
Any general criticism/comments are more than welcome! Thanks in advance!

In no way am I qualified to critique, but from a beginner's view ( and a parent's view!), the photo IS adorable. I think you've captured personality beautifully.

Thanks for sharing!

well really only YOU can know if you captured his personality accurately. the rest of us, not knowing him its hard to tell . what we can tell is how well the image is captured. As far as that goes, i think you did a great job. Lighting/exposure looks pretty spot on and an interesting composition to lead your eye to his face. Great candid expression you captured too (which is key when photographing children i think). good job!

The personality I see here is one of slight mischeiviousness, and a big curiousity. Adorable!
