Default Paul Frank Monkey

Today it's raining out so I wanted to play with my off camera flash. I enlisted my son to sit for me who was still rockin his Paul Frank PJs.

Canon 24-70 F2.8L

The blinds were drawn and I had my 430EX (into umbrella) setup camera left a little higher than his head. I feather it in front of him and then setup a silver reflector to add fill on the dark side of his face. I feel like I nailed the exposure. In Lightroom I burned down the exposure around him a bit especially on the bed's front edge. I think I could have gone farther here but I did not want it to look like a vignette. I like it but in retrospect I find the comforter pattern and pictures above the headboard distracting.

I would appreciate any feedback about problems that you see or suggestions for what would have made this portrait better. Thanks in advance.

Hi
Great capture! There's a lot of pattern in the bed cover and his pj's which clash a little for me. My eye struggles to settle on the subject. The background is fine imo and lighting/exposure looks great. There's just an X/wow factor missing as the focal point is a bit indistinct with the distraction of the cover etc.
