Default baby portrait

This is my son asleep on his boppy pillow... I had to do a bit of PP, not sure if its done well or not as I am just learning. Also, any other suggestions for improvement are very much welcome!

Thanks!

Thanks for adding my EXIF! I totally forgot!

The color photo was too yellow, as I was using my living room light and lamp (which is yellowish tone). I can't wait to get real lighting! LOL! If I could have figured out how in PP to get the yellow out more I would have kept it color, but after playing with it for a while I just did B&W. I am not great at photoshop yet. I have attached a copy of the color picture. If anyone can tell me how to get the yellow out with out it looking crazy i'd love to learn! This is what the original picture looked like, in the B&W one I cropped and rotate the pic and add some to the edges.

What a cutie pie! Instead of using your living room light, try positioning him near a window/glass door for natural light. You'll find it's much better. Just make sure the light isn't streaming directly in, that would be too harsh. Place him at an angle, look for a soft butterfly shaped shadow under his nose. Use a reflector or at least a piece of white posterboard/foamboard.

In agreement that the BW is way too dark. Great job posing, though!

unfortunately it was late evening and I wasn't getting enough light from the window... but a reflector totally probably would have worked to use what I was getting! LOL! Next time I will totally do that!

Slowly but surely I'll get it. LOL! The last time I posted, the pose was an issue, this time I got that right. Ha! So one by one I will become good!

I lightened it up... is it too light now?

Ok I didn't like that last one... so I did a bit more to keep the background dark, but lighten him up. I am not great at PP but what do you think about this one?

Last edit looks great! The one before, his arm was a little hot. But that last one is definitely a keeper. Great job!

I don't mind at all! Could you tell me how you got so much of the yellow out? I am very new at photoshop (and actually am using the free trial of elements), so I would love to have the information!
