2nd time with canvas

I appreciated the feedback on my first canvas shot. I took this of my son for his 1st birthday pics. I was curious what other's thought of the lighting, and general look of the picture. I usually like natural backgrounds put admit I had fun doing this.

His face looks a little soft to me, could be sharper.

I, too, think his face looks a little soft....

Did you by chance focus on his chest?

I also have the D5000 and thought that its default settings made JPEGs look soft...so bumped the sharpening up to 5, even 6, before I thought it looked good.....

His face definitely is soft. I wish there was some light in his eyes, too. You've also got a color cast from his bright orange shirt on his skin.

He sure is a cutie, though!
