Default To Crop or Not?

Last Remembrance Sunday I took this

and I am in two minds about cropping it or leaving it as is, with the tombstone and the family soft focused in the background to some 'depth' to his expression.

I don't like the like red clothing at the back. Sample for illustration purposes only.

Don't crop. As a matter of fact, I could wish there was a bit more in the image; a bit more of the man's body and all of the head of the man out of focus. Nonetheless, the expression on the face of the man in the center is priceless and I would leave it alone.

I'm with LoveDSLR, the red took my eye off the subject.

I like it as it is. It gives the man some context. Particularly I don't like to clone out parts of photos, (and have photoshop). I do think there's some magenta in you photo that LoveDSLR corrected successfully.

Thanks for your comments. I think it was the red in the background that was causing my initial should I or shouldn't I.

I have to admit I was still in the phase of 'well I paid for 300mm might as well use all of them' rather than thinking would this look better zoomed out.
