This is my lovely daughter. I'm pretty happy with this shot except the blown-out bit of sky above her head. But, I'd love some feedback from the pros!
Camera: Nikon D80 Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200) Aperture: f/8.0 Focal Length: 58 mm ISO Speed: 250 Shot in Aperture Priority, used the on-board flash for fill, due to harsh mid-day desert sun. Thanks! |

Other than a couple of blown spots, it is a great photo! The exposure, skin tone, and processing look perfect! I especially like the eyes. Did you play with them? If so, you did it with just the right touch in my opinion!

Thanks again, I sure appreciate the feedback. I would LOVE if anyone has any great advice on dealing with almost constantly BRIGHT outdoor shooting conditions. I often end up with a lot of trouble with shadows.
FallinWoman, yes, I brightened the eyes, but only a touch-- she has VERY intensely blue eyes and that dark ring around the iris. Thanks again, everyone, for your feedback. Thus far, I have been trying to perfect my natural light portraiture. Next up, I am going to start looking into reflectors, strobes, etc, to expand my abilities. |

gorgeous photo!
Her face looks a bit pink to me...does anyone else see this? It's very very likely that it's just my monitor. nice job

Hmmm, anyone NOT seeing too much pink? On my end, it looks like her natural English fair skin... with a bit of pink, but very much her natural tone. Of course, I'm looking at the real deal day in & day out. Still, though, I'm wondering if you are ALL seeing lots of pink. Thanks!!
