Hello Tony,
My histogram shows that a large part of the t-shirt is pure white, this meaning detail in these area is lost and cannot be recovered. Cloning could be an option here, but you don't have many places to clone from. You could also bring down the white output levels, so it would not be pure white but slightly grayish. As for composition, unlike the other picture of the boy, here the subject is looking to the right and not to the camera, so I'd position her a bit to the left (http://digital-photography-school.co...e-to-look-into). Besides, it places her away from the center. ![]() PS: I still wonder if I should have cropped a bit more the upper-right area... but then it makes it a square shaped photo. This one is better exposed than the one of your son (although her white shirt has lost some detail), but I feel like the one of your son was more "fixable." In this one, I don't see a connection...between the far off gaze and the sunglasses, something just gets lost.
With that being said, a better crop definitely improves the picture. The magenta tones are really harsh again as well. I took care of those two things and again added some contrast.
