My two cents. I would adjust the skin tone first with people photos. The leading lines are good but not the shiny lock. The colors are fairly complementary.
You can consider framing it differently to give the child's face more emphasis. Furthermore, you can make an adjustment between the exposure of the subject and the background for additional separation. Lastly, the background could be straightened. Sample for illustration purposes.

I find the out of focus foreground much more distracting than the background as it has much more "weight" and is "closer". I would probably switch to a portrait orientation and trim both. (and straighten)

I do like the background but like everyone else I find the foreground a bit distracting. I think next time you should come around to the front of her a bit more so you're farther away from the wall and maybe work with a wider frame... pull back a bit I mean.

I do like the background..but my first impression is that the lovely subject is a bit lost in it. The lock is also pretty distracting. Maybe a closer crop? I like the one suggested by LoveDSLR.
