Question Have I gone too far?

Aperture: f5.6
Exposure: 1/320
ev: +1.33
ISO: 400
Focal Length: 85mm
Flash: None
Nikon: D5000

I tweaked some of the values in Photoshop to bring out the eyes and create a milky-like skin tone. Is it too much? Does it lend itself to the composition of the photograph?

Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Jerry

Yep, too bright. Did you intend to use +1 1/3 ev? The composition probably would have been better with a vertical crop too.

Yes way too bright.

I used this method
The Orton Effect – Digital Photography Tip of the Week | PCIN.net Update
only without creating the "sharp" layers.

Then selectively erased the eyes, shadows, before merging down.
still a bit bright on the face....didn't have much left to work with.

One more vote for mistake rather than artistic.

I little too bright. The subject becomes washed out with the brightness of the background.

Cheers!

Yeah, I'd vote "my bad" on this one, as well...

I must say I agree with most of the other posters. Other than +1.33 EV, was it really necessary to set ISO at 400? I think this helped in washing the colours in the image. Composition could benefit from a square cut putting the young lady leaning on the right edge of the frame.

Just my 2 cents...
