Pool Hustler?

I took this of my nephew sitting on his daddy's pool table. His eyes were half closed in the original so I replaced them with eyes from another shot. I would like to have sharper focus on the eyes, but am having problems with my camera back focusing, yet it looks sharp in the viewfinder.
My questions:
How did I do with the eye replacement, can you tell?
How is the white balance?
What could I have done to improve the lighting?
Any other suggestions are welcome!

I can not tell your changes the eyes. They look perfect. The white balance on him is ok - but you do have the background light fom a different light source which isn't ideal. The lighting is a flat. It appears to be direct flash and that doesn't give you shadows and a sense of dimention. Overall it is a nice capture and the PP eye surgery was nicely done!

Thanks for your reply. There were some overhead lights and windows that I guess were lighting the back? I have a cheap flash that can only be used with the hot shoe, would it help to get a wired adapter and move the flash to the side? Where should I position a reflector? I'm really trying to learn how to light properly and I am very new at using artificial light. I am finding there are so many things to consider. I really hope with time and lots of practice it comes more naturally!
