Default Breaking the rules??

This shot is SOOC....normally, I look for ways to crop to frame a little better using rule of thirds and other norms....however, I am thinking that this particular shot does not need any changes...do you?? Thanks for your input.....on this or any other aspect of this picture....

Cute pic! I think I would prefer a tighter crop, though. Either that or I would want to see her feet. Somehow the frame ending just above her ankles bothers me.

Is this crop better??? I know the quality of the pic doesn't look as good, but that's because it's a crop from a smaller file I had on Flickr....so it looks pixelated........that won't be the case when I use the original....so is this crop better?

I like the tighter crop. It's a bit underexposed, though, and I'd have liked to see some light in her eyes. Very cute little girl!

Thanks for the help everyone. One poster said that this was a bit underexposed. I need help with this. On my monitor, I am not thinking it is underexposed. However, I can see that I perhaps was metering for her bright dress which may have caused a slight underexposure of her skin.....is this what is possibly going on here?

I'm assuming that would be a relatively easy fix in PS right?

Thanks again!!

That's a possibility, because her dress looks correctly exposed. Did you shoot in RAW? If so, it's super easy to bring the exposure up.

I did not shoot in RAW. I'm still trying to learn all I can about exposure, framing, etc. before I start shooting in RAW. That may sound silly, but all I really mean is that I'm not printing much of my pictures yet...but when I start doing things a little more formally, I will start using RAW much more.

How underexposed does her skin look to you guys? This will help me see what you see!!

Thanks!
