Default Am I on the right track? B'day portrait.

Hi all,

I've posted in other sections of the forum before, but this is my first time posting in the critique area I recently did a b'day shoot for a friend and out of the many final photographs I have, this one has left me feeling a little unsure. I love it, but it has me wondering if it's not quite right. I would very much appreciate any feedback or advice on it.

Cheers,
Ashli

Its a nice capture but it seems a bit soft. Compositionally I think its fine but the expression and lack of eye contact doesn't convey the same happy message as the dress and face paint.
