Default Blurred baby face

Im just so in love with this photo... problem is that her face is a little too blurred. Can anybody tell me how to 'unblur' in PSE7?

f/5.6, exposure 1/250 sec., ISO-400, focal length 55mm

its not blurred, in camera or subject movement sense, but it is out of focus. You had the focus aimed at the chains and she leaned in front of them, putting your in front of the focus plain. You can't "fix" it in photoshop. You can learn from the mistake and try not to do the same thing next time, which will fix your technique.

Agree, your point of focus should have been on the eyes. You could improve it a little by selectively sharpening the eyes, but that will only go so far. Don't know how you go about that in Elements though, I use CS3.

Do you have a copy of the original picture? I just had a play with the copy you posted but it can only be pushed so far before it breaks up. Did you shoot it as a JPEG?

you can't just correct out of focus shots with some sharpening regardless of the image format, that will just obliterate detail in that area.

thanks for the replies guys. Zulu, yes i did shoot in jpeg. I've thought about going RAW, but feel thats its a lil too complicated for me at the moment since i am a beginner. To be honest ive only learned about jpeg vs RAW last week and i kno even less about PSE7 (even tho ive had it for a whole year). The only things ive done to this photo is sharpen it a smidge of a bit and use the mcp eyedoctor and dentist action. Here's the original photo...

Agreed, but if you are keeping the picture small, sharpening of the eyes will give a degree of illusion of sharpness - enough to save a picture taken for your own enjoyment anyhow. I ask about the format as changing the clarity setting may help with the illusion around the eyes.
Its not recoverable for anything more important than a cute pic someone took of their own kid.

I think we all need to repeat this to ourselves every time we try to "fix" a shot later! It is a most important lesson to learn.

The color looks off too. She looks too warm.
