Misty Portrait

Camera Nikon D-60
Lens: VR 18-55 zoom
Aperture f/4.5
Shutter: 1/80
Focus Mode AF-A

First Posting.

Using Capture NX, I have decreased the exposure and increased the contrast and cropped to a square format.

I like the feel of the misty, foggy day and the mystery of looking through the rain splattered window. Any suggestions on how I could capture this mood even better?

Anything you don't like?

Thanks,
jay

Hello Jay,

I too own a Nikon D60, recently changing to 18-55mm lens for a 55-300mm lens. However, I do think you can take great pictures with the 18-55.

Can I ask, what mode were you shooting in? Just asking because it looks like your lens has focused on the window more than the subjects, perhaps using a manual focus mode would have been better?

Thanks, I've updated the post with the focusing information. It was in AF mode and I tried to auto-focus on their faces through the window and hold the focus. I hadn't thought to go Manual focus. I'll be thinking about that in the future.
