Default updated pic from "does this work"

OK so I saw what everyone was saying about having to tilt your head to see him, color issues and lack of prop. So here is what I took today. Does this one work better?

Camera: Nikon D3000
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: +1 EV
Flash: On, Return detected

I think the pose is better in this one.

Thanks! I see what you mean now about wanting to tilt your head with the other!

Isn't it amazing how a minor adjustment makes it THAT much better? the pose and your camera angle/position gives more an eye connection to the camera!! Great job.

You could smooth out the foreground just a tad to get rid of the raised crease. I'm beginning to believe it's near impossible to nail every detail in every picture - at least for me!!

The baby just needs to be... softer. This is coming from someone who is not into soft squishy baby photos! The flash/light is just too harsh, it looks like a snapshot. Not sure what the condition of your flash is- maybe even try taping a few layers of kleenex over it if it is a forward-only fixed flash- or bounce the flash off a reflector/white board. No direct flash.
