Default After 3 Lacrosse Games . . .

I guess it's appropriate to look a ruffled.

My daughter's lacrosse team play 3 games in one morning last weekend. After the 3rd game, I took this candid photo of my daughter's friend when the girls were packing up. It was taken very late in the morning, in full sun, with the sun pretty much right behind her, and with a lot of other girls in the background. I tried to isolate her as best as I could.

Lacrosse Aftermath

How's the lighting on her face? Too flat?

Is that pink blob just over her shoulders distracting?

Did I overdo the post work on her eyes?

Anything else I could've done better?

Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 220 mm
Focal Length: 226.3 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: -1/3 EV
Flash: No Flash

Thanks for looking.

I think the whites of her eyes are a little too white, but I've shot people that had eyes that looked over processed, and hadn't touched them.

For a candid, I think you did great. I really like the determined look on her face.

Thanks very much, Kevin.

While I didn't touch the whites of her eyes, they looked too white to me, too. All I did to the eyes was to select and sharpen the irises just a bit.

So, maybe this is another case of what you've experienced already - eyes looking over processed, when they aren't.

I'll try to get the whites more natural looking, but I'm not very good that this sort of "advance" post work. But I won't learn if I don't try.

Thanks again.

I really like this...it's a nice, candid shot! Great shot even with the potential bad lighting conditions!

I think this is a great capture of the moment. Intensity and exhaustion in one!
