Default Parenthood

Hello everyone! I am a newbie in photography and i was amazed to find such a site individuals like me can learn so much from. this is my first post here and i don't even know if this photo is worth the post but i am determined to learn and i believe posting some of my shots for critiquing will help improve my skills in photography.
i titled this photo parenthood because i just love th emotion it evoked. it is grainy since it was shot with low light with only one lamp on the side and i think its even in the wrong place i turned it to b & w in PP to convey a more classic look.
please take a look and give me feedbacks.. thank you!

The concept is nice. I'm not too good at the technical stuff (lighting etc) so I won't comment on that, but lose the frame and the watermark. They make the photo look cheap in my opinion.

I agree with tingeliM...great concept, but the frame and watermark downgrade the image.

I also find my eyes being drawn more to the bright white spot. Have you tried any post work to tone it down?

I am curious how it would look if the whole image was a touch darker. I tend to believe it would bring more intimacy to the picture.

Nice job on the concept, I really enjoy the way you captured the emotion on both faces....

hi there! thanks for the reply. i agree with you with the white spot on the side.. its the light from the lamp and the camera i think overexposed it. i did some post work on it but my know how in post work is still quite limited. i would try to do what you suggested and see how it works.. thank you.
