Default first child portrait/ shabby chic girl

Great site-new here and loving it.

My Daughter. Taken at an old school house.

iso 200
f 5.6
1/250 sec
82 mm

this is uncropped and unedited. I like the angle but wonder if others will. Of course general critiques on lighting etc are most welcome! Thank you.

I'm a newbie too so can't give much technical advice but like this pic. I would crop a bit off the top and bottom but I like the angle. Great job!

To me I find the tilt slightly distracting, Also she seams slightly under exposed, this could of been helped by some fill in flash. I must say the focus seams good though. And all in all you have captured a wounderful image of her. Apart from the tilt I would say your composition is excellent.

I kind of agree with the previous posters about a tighter crop and the lighting. However, I do like the angles...diagonal lines add tension and excitement to an image, and I think it works very well here. The same shot with everything being parallel to the frame would not have worked as well as this did...nice job

Does anyone else think the skin is a bit bluish?

(Or is it my monitor that needs calibration?)

Thank you everyone. I did end up croping and added a little fill light in picassa. I appreciate you all taking the time to look.

I think the angle looks good, but I actually think that the focus is too soft on her face in particular her eyes. I also think the window is a little distracting behind her, this may have been fixed by both of you taking a step over.
