Late last year I really wanted to change the subject matter of what I was shooting. I had been doing live sports for years and was tired of it. So wanted to branch out into Portraits and such. It has been a learning curve but one I am enjoying the journey of

Hi dyimages, welcome to dPS. You are off to a good start in the community and for critique, we ask that you specifically ask what you would like to critique on. http://digital-photography-school.co...rum-rules.html

Thanks Lori.

I am most interested in lighting and if it seems to offer enough depth to the photo as well as pose. Posing seems to be the hardest thing for me to grasp especially when not dealing with professional models. Professionals make it easy IMO compared to Joe or Jane Public who are not used to being in front of camera.

Aside from those key areas any input is appreciated. I would rather have my photo shreded by peers so I improve rather than a pat on the back.

I agree with above, I think it looks great as is, the lighting really suits the mood. I also like his pose, it seems very natural.
