My eye likes the warmer version myself. If I were to print this, would crop out the basketball as it is distracting. Crop tight to the child as much as possible.

i hear the bball thing but his 3 favorite things are his guy (eeyore) spoons and basketballs
also he hates getting his picture taken so i kinda have to take what i can get when it comes to things to print of my walls in the house thats why its 210mm cause i just hide away from him and try to snap a few before he notices

Very cute shot. I do agree with the crop suggestion though. My eye went straight to the blurry orange ball until I figured out what it was then I saw the cute little kid. I'd try a vertical crop to eliminate the basketball and focus in more on that cute little face.

And I prefer the warm one but what really counts is which one you like, which one will remind you of this moment :-)

okay, now I see he likes the basketball so you may want to leave it in. I still think compositionally it is distracting but if it is important to the moment and your memory, well, then it may work to leave it in. I think if it were more in focus, it might work better to help relay that message to someone who doesn't know him but with kids, I understand you just take what you can get sometimes ;-)

Much better indeed! This is more of a portrait while the other crop seemed more a snapshot. Nice final image.
