Default a rare pose by the window.....

Well, I got lucky with my daughter posing by the window. However, I think I may have had the aperture open to wide causing the photo to be a bit soft...also, it is a deep crop so I'm wondering if that makes it too noisy....any thoughts are appreciated....I've been using all the advice I get on this site....I love it!

Thanks,

I don`t have much experience to make a critique, but I personally like it ...

It looks very nice. Yes there is a bit of grain but the image is capticating you don't notice it much and yes it is a bit soft but not soft enough to not make it work. The grain will probably come much into play more when you have it printed.
Lighting looks good, nice catchlight and nice rim lighting from the window. Compositionally it works with a minor drawback in the bright reflection over her head on the right. It would be nice to burn that down a bit. Overall nice capture.

Any thoughts on why this may be soft? I have a D5000.....is it because of the lower indoor lighting you think?

Lovely picture. If the noise bothers you and it will show up if you print this pictures...use a noise reduction software there are quite a few out on the market. She makes me smile everytime I look at her. Wonderful smile and love the children pictures the just warm the heart.
