Default Island Girl: Room for improvement?

Summer Palms

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/5.0
Focal Length: 29 mm
ISO Speed: 100

Rather proud of this image, but I know there's always room for improvement. Suggestions on how I could improve it?

I can see why you are proud of this, must have taken time to set up and compose. However, I find my eyes being drawn by the narrowing gap between the strands and away from the model's face, and that what's spoils it for me.

If her eyes are not naturally crooked, then I don't think she'll like this picture...
Does anyone have an opinion on parts of her face I believe is over exposed.

I'm a newbie (and more technical then artistic) and perhaps, its a photography style I am not aware of?

Thanks
