Default He loves me... He loves me not...

Hiya!

Me and my friends were doing a photoshoot yesterday and my friend shot this one of me. I did all the editing. It was taken on my Sony Cyber-Shot and I edited it in Photoshop (I added the words in Picasa).

Is the lighting good? I think I always tend to go alittle too bright so for this photoshoot I tried to resist from doing that. In this photo I blurred the background... What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks!
(Also, i don't know if this is considered a portrait... i didn't know where to put it.)

You can check out the other photo's from this photoshoot on my Flickr (link in my signature)

I think it is practically perfect. Looks like something you'd find in the Hallmark card aisle. Great concept & execution.

Yup, about the only thing i could say you might want to change for next time would be to have the background consistant across the frame...like all grass, or all concrete... it would place more emphasis on the subject and also make it very easy for your eye to find the two strips of text.
nice work.

on the right side, grass isn't blured fully from your hand.

I love it!

Just watch your blurring the background - I see distracting grass in focus along your left arm and on your right shoulder.

I agree about the background a bit, though I like the dark/light play (especially with the text you added)... I would say just avoiding the seperate concrete/utility cover behind you would clear up the background enough to be less distracting.

(i'm not a pro by any means, just my thoughts)

I think its a great shot. Agree with the previous comments, but I would get rid of the text. I think the capture itself is a powerful enough image on its own. You don't need to spell it out.

I'd love it if it were a bit less over-saturated. The background doesn't really bother me, though. I really like the composition and perspective. There are a couple of blown out spots on your hands, too. Keep shooting!

I fixed the messed up blur on the side:
He loves me....

I also went a little bit more blurrier...
