Default The yellow bush - burn or change color???

I took this image this afternoon and like the image all around. My biggest concern is the yellow shrub behind my son. I burned in PS a little, but now I'm unsure whether I should burn more or use another PP software to change the color so it doesn't distract from the subject.

My question's:
  1. Is it a distraction?
  2. Should I change to color/tone to lessen the eye sore?
  3. Should I just use a blurring brush in PS to blur it out?

Exposure Bias: +1/3 EV
Flash: Fired, Return not detected (used to trigger SB-800 at camera left)

It is a little distracting, yes. I would try adjusting the actual color or just pulling back the saturation. I don't think blurring it in PS would do any good as it is already out of focus.

I really like the photo, otherwise. You caught a great expression!

Very nice photo of your son. Love the light, eyes and expression.

I do think the yellow is a distraction. To me, your thoughts of darkening/burning it some more, and/or even changing the color altogether (as you mentioned) are good ones.

Or, how about a portrait crop to get rid of some of the distraction on the left side?

I think its blurred enough as it is.
