Hi there, and welcome to DPS! You might want to take a look at how to post a photo from Flickr, since when I click on the link you provided it just says it's set to private and I cannot view it. You might want to take a look at the critique forum rules, too, before a mod comes in and asks you to adjust your post.

I was able to pull your EXIF for you using Opanda IExif:
Canon XSi, shot in AV mode, auto WB 100mm F/5.6 1/1000 ISO 800 You can get this info yourself from Flickr - on the right, click on "More Properties" and you can copy and paste it here. Photo is now way too big, and the ads are running through it. Can you repost it so it's no larger than 740 px on the longest side? Medium size from Flickr would work fine instead of large or original. And, what is it you'd like critique on? |

Quote:
Way to go on color and exposure. It's not easy to shoot snow portraits without the snow looking grey! Over-exposing by a 1/3 of a stop may have brightened it just enough. As for composition, she's a bit centered. Try cropping a bit from the right to get her less centered. Don't crop from the left, leave her some room to "look into". Usually I prefer a subject looking at the camera, but in this case, I kind of like that she's looking up - makes me wonder what she's looking at (and as you said in your subject, waiting for snow). As far as focus is concerned, the focus fell on the rock she's sitting on and she's very soft. Try to focus on the eyes. I know it was cold so she probably had her hands tucked in for warmth, but her missing hands are a bit distracting, too. You're doing great so far. Practice focusing on the eyes and getting your subjects' faces, particularly their eyes, tack sharp and work on composition a bit, and you're going to rock it!

Welcome to dPS. Susan was kind enough to point out the necessary requirements for posting in critique. Thanks Susan!
I've changed your photo to a link since it is too large. What specifically would you like critique on?
