Default little one in the snow

I PP this a little bit, so I was wondering if the composition/colors seemed to work.....also, is it too boring? Anything to make this better??

I think there is either too much PP done to this or just that the PP done is too obvious with the halo around her. She seems overly saturated but the exposure and WB on the snow behind her seems off in a different way. It's a cute shot and I like the composition, so I wonder if less would have been more here. Do you have the original you could share?

I can share the original...the colors are much softer.....basically what I thought I would experiment with is doing a little HDR with a portrait (taking one image in raw...over and under-exposing it...and combing the three in photomatrix) to see what it looked like...I admit I did it a bit too strong...thus, the halo......but for some reason I kind of thought it was cool....perhaps I was wrong!! That is okay, though, that's why I posted it here, and I LIKE the constructive feedback....

Thanks!

Jaxon

I personally like the second one much better. It looks a lot more natural and puts the focus on her rather than the editing. I still feel like the color of the snow is a bit off but it's very cute!

Most things I've read of HDR are that it's not the best for portraits. The second one is better, but I'd take your cue from the snow...it should be white. She's a cutie!

Wow, the original is great. It's just about perfect SOOC - definitely my favorite of the three posted. If anything, you could maybe up the contrast and saturation a little bit. I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of making those two tweaks along with a slight curves adjustment.

That looks good! Thanks for the advice.....it seems though that I will have to have a few lessons on using/adjusting curves and other Photoshop tweaks.....I'm really only able to do a few small things I've learned on my own......

Thanks again!

Well, here's my own retouch onthe original....increased saturation a bit, used auto for curves....and used a high pass filter to sharpen it up a bit.......

Thanks again for the advice!
