Default Sweetest Girl

This is a photo of my daughter. I'm sort of a newbie here, long time lurker with a few posts. I'm having a hard time with the auto focus aspect of my camera. I try focusing on an eye, but then it always seems the other eye is not as sharp. Is there a trick to this? This is SOOC.

Dang! This is SOOC? Fantastic. I looked at the large version and focus seems to be perfectly fine to me. Warm it up just a tiny, tiny bit and perhaps give it a contrast bump and it's perfect. Great job!

Thanks! It just seems to me that her right eye has more "pop" and is sharper than her left. I notice it in a lot of my photos. I guess I bumped up the f/stop a little bit more on this one, thinking that might be the issue. Maybe I need to bump it up more. I tend to hang done around f/4-f/5.6, which I thought might be why. But maybe I am getting it right?

Great composition. However I believe your colors can stand out more. In Photoshop edit the picture with the levels tool by dragging the far right triangle to this first black spot. Add contrast via the curve tool. and you would have a more popping picture.

I can show you the product if you let me edit your picture

Go for it! I don't have photoshop and mainly use GIMP if I do any PP. However, I haven't exactly mastered that in any form.

Your compositions are great, I just checked your Flickr page. All you need now is to modify colors.

wow! Thanks. All of my shots on flickr are SOOC. Actually, I do very little PP. I'm not very confident in my skills regarding it and I get so attached to the original photos. I have the white balance on auto. I think that is the next area that I'm going to work on adjusting and getting right.
