I think its a nice shot....
capturing toddlers is always hard....

thinking maybe a little contrast work would help out but all in all a decent shot

Cute! I'd crop it a bit tighter from the top, though. White balance is definitely off, the skin looks a bit orange. It's a little noisy from the high ISO, too. Great job on focus, the eyes look great.

Overall great shot . As for the white balance ...it does have a slight orange cast. But adjustments will be tricky if you have more than one light source. Evidently tungsten was the main light here, but it seems you have some daylight coming through a window ,which is landing on his shirt and a small area on the face.Maybe try to block out this stray light next go around.

Where do you notice the most noise in this picture? I wonder if this is because I sharpened a bit in Photoshop using a high pass filter....wonder if this added a little to the noise....

I will try to redo this a little...I still have the original file....
I'll try a tighter crop....I was going for the rule of thirds with the bridge of his nose....but I think I was off!!

As for white balance....do most people have issues with Tungsten lighting? I assume this is simply a gray card issue??

Thanks again!!

Default adjusted a bit

Following advice....does this look any better?

The final won't be this noisy....but what about color/composition?

Thanks,

Jaxon

Much better! Good job! I'm totally diggin' this crop. Skin might be a little too cool now but it's better than it was.

I've had really good luck with the expodisc. It requres a little extra time setting up but well worth it
