I would ertainly consider a differnt crop. More of a landscape crop as the one you have leaves far too much empty space above and below.
It's also very dark for my taste

Totally off topic...but that line just cracked me up!!

I like the idea of a landscape crop as well...you might like to layer with some antique lace or scrollwork to soften the photo a little as it is quite dark for such a "new" subject...
it's reminiscent of an aged photo though, and from that point of view I quite like where you're going with it...sometimes people prefer not to have the textured layers on faces and skin..keeping it just in background might make a difference in the 'lightness' of the photo also
you might like to take a look at some of windrider's work for inspiration as well, she really has the art of balancing 'dark' elements and working with textures down to a science!

Thanks for the feedback. I actually wanted the dark look. The picture itself was taken that way plus i just threw some spotlight on the face thereby darkening out the other areas.

Do let me know where can i find windrider's work so that i can take some inspiration.

Check out the Games and Challenges Forum for "What Would You Do" as well. It's a light hearted way to get experience using your PP programs, but great for inspiration as well, and you'll usually find an entry from windrider there!
