Charlie's Hammock

Hi guys,

I've been going through my 'photos not to bother with' file and I just can't bear to give up on this one! I know the focus is wrong (it's hard to keep the camera still in a swinging hammock ) and that it could do with... *something* to make it 'pop', but I'm clueless with photoshop (gimp, actually, is what I'm using at the moment) and so I was hoping someone could give me some tips and tell me how to improve it so that it's worth keeping?

I love this picture. The colors are great, but you're right; the focus is off. It's still a keeper though. I sharpened his eyes, whitened the whites and irises just a tad. I cleaned up his face and smoothed his skin. I did all of this in GIMP. I'll try to attach, but it's not acting right. Sorry if it doesn't attach properly. Great picture though.
