Default A Little Beach Bum's Smile

Hello,

This is my first post to this site, so there may be a few kinks in this post. This is a picture I took of my son a couple of summers ago. I wish every shot came out like this one. I'm not sure what to ask or how to improve.

D300 + 70-200VR @ 200mm
ISO 200, f/2.8, I'm not sure of the shutter but I used the green in the background to set exposure.

Your son looks bubbly and cute and you were able to capture that in the photo. However, it would be better though if there's more light directed to his face. It was a bit dark at least for me.

Cheers!

Thanks, it was a candid taken from a distance with a 200mm. No flash, just available light. I suppose I could have uped the photo but then the highlight in his hair and all the background would have been blown.
