lenses and camera

This is probably a "dumb" question, but can any Pentax SLR lense work on any of their camera's?

And any recommendations for what you'd recommend someone entering school this spring?

(Right now, I like the Kx. But I read it's not weather proof, so do they have camera armor for it or is that just Canon's thing for the Rebel?)

Is weather sealing really going to be that much of an issue for you? If it is, a similarly priced option might be a used k20d over a K-x. HOwever, having gotten my hands on a K-x recently, theyre mightly fine cameras at a great price...hard to turn your nose up on it. they do make armour for other pentax models, i dont know but would assume they will for the kx if the dont already.

As far as lenses, any K-mount lens will fit and work, and m42 screw mount lenses will with an adapter.

with my out doors romping, I've been caught in rain and snow. I'd hate to lose my camera! so at some point, yes. Just perhaps not yet.

A Pentax K200D has good weather seals but not sure where it lies in the price range of current models.
