Default I bought a Mamiya lens, can I use it on my Pentax film SLR?

Hi folks,

Yesterday I bought a used Mamiya lens, it is MAMIYA SEKOR f=200 mm, 1:3.5.
I got it pretty cheap and thought it will fit my old Pentax Program A film SLR camera, but it doesn't, although the mount seems to be very similar.
Do you know is there any chance I can fit this lens on my Pentax?? Do I need some kind of an adapter, and what exactly?

Thanks.

If it's a true Mamiya, it's medium format: they wont mount.

Mamiya made some 35mm SLR's, too. But no it won't fit your Pentax.

I'm pretty sure you can find Mamiya 645 mount adapters for Pentax K on eBay (ha found one but kinda expensive); hmmm. Fotodiox only has Mamiya and Pentax 645 adapters for Nikon and Canon mount. But judging from a review of a Mamiya 645 lens on a 5D, it's probably not worth it for some lenses.

I haven't looked much into medium-format to 35mm SLR adapting, but iirc, you may even be able to find some tilt-shift adapters, which would probably be the coolest use for a Mamiya lens on a Pentax K body. The Novoflex bellows, though, costs an arm and a leg, so I'd guess those adapters might, too. To me, anything associated with medium format means bigger pricetags. Ok, except maybe Holgas.

Also, remember with an adapted lens, you lose autofocus and any shooting modes other than full Manual and Aperture Priority.

Snort. He would.

Ok, one question for the OP: can you tell what mount the lens is? If it's an old M42 screwmount lens, that can easily be adapted for Pentax K with a $12 ring. I googled Mamiya Sekor 200mm f/3.5, and it turns out there was an M42 version.

Thanks everyone for such quick replies. I thought that I can find some kind of an adapter but wasn't really sure which mount this lens uses.

Inkista, thank you for the efforts. I don't think it is a M42 mount, based on what I understood from Wikipedia. It doesn't have those 42 mm diameter threads, in fact, the mount is VERY similar to the one on my Takumar lens.
But, on the other hand, I've found this website dedicated to M42 lenses and adapters and here you can find all the info on this lens and it says there were three generations of this lens made, and the one I've got is definitely the third generation, since it uses 58 mm filters.
So, what kind of mount is it, I'm confused now.

That's not a problem, since I always use Aperture Priority or Manual modes. I wouldn't loose the ability to use in-camera metering, right?

Here are a few pictures of the mount and the lens I took, so you can take a close look at the mount:

Do you guys honestly think he's serious when he says stuff like this. I've never seen anyone with tongue more firmly planted in cheek than Ken Rockwell.
