Default K110 V K100

Hi,

I understand the only difference between the K110 and the K100 is in-camera-shake-reduction (though it seems manual white balance might also be missing on the K110).

Does anybody have any experience of using both and care to give me their opinion on whether the K100 is worth the extra? On Jessops website the K100 is £399 (with a 18-55mm lens kit) and the K110 is £376 (same lens kit).

I've no problem spending the extra money (if I eventually purchase one of them) but want to know whether people think it is worth worrying about or whether the differences are so minimal it isn't worth the extra?

I've found the K100 cheaper than the Jessops price online but i'm just interested to see what the difference is, and why they are so closely priced (seems strange to have 2 almost identical cameras only £20-£30 apart).

Have you tried the comparison tool at a site like www.MyProductAdvisor.com ?

Select digital cameras, then go to Cameras Like This and select "Yes, I do have a camera in mind" and pick one of the Pentax cameras. After you submit it, click on Recommendations then select cameras you'd like to compare.

It does sometimes have missing or even wrong information, but I've used it before to help me narrow my choices.

I did consider both those Pentax models on the journey that led me to get a Nikon D40. One of the factors between the two was the image stabilising feature making the K100 about 75g heavier; that's not a huge amount... until the extra weight has caused you to put your camera away and miss a great shot!

The DPReview site mentioned above has an indepth review of the K100, which would definitely be worth reading.

Thanks for the help everyone. I read the dpreview entries, which is what has attracted me towards this camera. I have some Pentax lenses so if they work with it that's a big factor in favour of the K100/K110.

If anybody has used either at all and wants to give their opinion that would be really great. I will read the above sites and see what more I can find. I'm tempted by one of them and i'm just interested to figure out whether it is worth the extra cost (and weight - thanks Wulf).
