This refers to using your flash in this mode. The article link below is from this weeks newsletter which explains what slow synch flash is. I have just started experimenting with this feature so apologize cannot give you a better technical explanation.
On my K20d this feature is accessed via the Fn button http://digital-photography-school.co...low-sync-flash

From the reviews I have read, the flash settings on the *istDL are also accessed via the Fn button. Try changing the mode to Av (apperture priority) and then selecting the flash options via Fn

Go to User CP at the top of page and Edit signature, this allows you to customise your signature.
Sorry couldnt help with your flash issue. On mine the flash settings change with different modes selected, assumed it would be same on yours.

Thanks again. I did a bit more research on the internet and find Pentax withdrew the slow speed sync facility from the ist L model. What a bummer.
I have otherwise had good results from the camera and have it matched with a Tamron 28-300 1:3.5-6.3 Macro lense, which is light weight and short profile and covers most situations well. |

I'm pretty sure it still can do rear-curtain sync with a hotshoe flash which supports that feature. Which you'd probably want for decent results anyway.
