It will take all newer Pentax lenses of course. The older screwmount lenses will require an adapter, but those types of lenses can only be found on eBay or garage sales.

And most in-between lenses — like, every one made since 1975 — will just work, without an adapter. However, those without an A setting on the aperture ring (pre-1983, give or take) require a button-press to meter and have some limitations.

Personally, I very highly recommend getting to know manual focus fast primes with the Pentax SMC 50mm f/1.7, it's pretty affordable on ebay, and since the automatic version is a $200 f/1.4 it's a pretty good first step.

I second Mr. Guy's comments. I have an M-28mm f/3.5 and it rivals anything made today. It's manual, but most of my photography is landscape so it really doesn't matter. The IQ and sharpness are wonderful. The cost? $50 on Ebay.

I would also recommend the Pentax limited primes (21mm and 40mm especially). Some of the best glass you can buy today.

Pentax is an awesome brand. Pretty much every lens ever made will work on any Pentax DSLR. And with shake reduction in the body, they are all SR lenses!
