Default Which for kids

Hi guys,

First post great site/forum, just back from the shop with my daughter who is looking for her first ever camera this has been brought about by the arrival of her 2 little ones and as you would expect, for the time being, most pictures will be of the little ones/family.

Soooo, I've had a search on the net and come up with the Pentax K-R for easy of use, would that be correct?..........how are DSLR's in general and the K-R specifically for complete novices?

Any info will be much appreciated..........she is looking to purchase tomorrow.

Thanks

The K-r is an awesome camera for the money. Its definitely the best feature/price in the entry level category. As with most DSLR's, shooting in auto is just as easy as with a point and shoot, but moving out of auto requires a learning curve and practice.

The K-r with the DA 40mm limited would be a great fast focusing combo that is very small and light, as well as sharp and good in low-light. The ability for it to take the LI-ION battery as well as AA's make it a good travel camera as well.
