Default Input on Sears manual lenses

I was able to pick up two sears lenses dirt cheap locally, both manual lenses.

28mm f2.8 & 135mm f2.8

Hard to find a review on these things since they're so old, but does anyone have experience with them and can offer their input as to how they rank?

I'm pretty happy with them for the price (next to nothing). Just curious if they are a decent lens.

(My current lenses are the kit lens 18-55mm and a quantaray 70-300mm)

Can't find the 28 listed but I think this is the 135

Probably a good starter lens. Make sure they don't have the ricoh pin and shoot away.

That one does not have an A setting either.

Sears lenses are generally rebadged Ricoh lenses. They are decent lenses, with their main worry being the Ricoh pin.

thanks mr guy. good to know. so far i am beyond pleased with the lenses I picked up (in the meantime, i picked up a third one! 50mm 2.8).

I can't believe I'm saying this - but I'm loving the manual lens thing! (I avoided it like the plague cause I don't trust my eyes....what I think is in focus usually isn't!)

I'd strongly consider replacing your focus screen with a good split prism/microprism combo. I've got a Katzeye in my K20 and couldn't be happier.
