Talking Photos from my new camera!!

Wow! I've just gotten my first DSLR... and wow! It's just so amazing how much better it works than my old P&S did! I am so in love with it!! =)

I've been having so much fun with it. Here are four of my favorite ones (I can only post four today... grrr!) I'll post a few more tomorrow!

This was the first picture I took with it... yes, the first one ever. It's nothing spectacular, but this is just the start. They will get better! =D
Portrait

----
I just love the macro mode on this camera. My old one did not do close-ups very good at all! I had a lot of fun experimenting with the macro mode. =)

This is a close-up of a peacock feather.

I really like this next one. I love the blurred background, and out of focus-ness of the other half of the glasses... I couldn't do that with my old camera. So it's so exciting that I can do focusing like that now!!
This was on auto focus, so it did this fpcusing by itself. I haven't tried taking pictures in manual yet, since I've just started using this camera. =)
Sunglasses

----
This next one is a small toy snail. I really like the DOF of this one.

These are just the first few I've taken... and this is just the beginning! I'll keep on learning more, and as I do, they'll hopefully get better. =D

Very nice work for your first time out with it. Congratulations!

#2 and #3 both show a very good eye for color and composition.

Nicely done! #3 is my favorite as well. I really like the shallow DoF. Congratulations on the new toy. What kind did you get?

I too just bought a new DSLR recently and am in love with it. Do alto of experimenting. And I mean a lot. Everyday I take mine out and photograph something, anything, just to get some ideas of what works and what does not. I have a Nikon D5100 with the 18-55 Kit lens and a 55-200 zoom lens. I use the kit lens most. Have a blast and enjoy, I know I am.
