Water Photography

My first attempt at photographing water splashes. Tried various subject, but this one was the best. I need to refine my lighting as well as background, but I think it's a decent start.

Canon XSi w/ 100mm f/2.8 Macro. 430exII positioned camera right with Yongnuo rf-603 for triggering. I'm also using a Canon remote trigger. This was also my first experimentation with off camera flash. A second one would help, I think.

As far as the water, I'm set up in a 10gal aquarium, about half full.

I had to do a lot of post processing, and that's probably the part I'm least pleased with...

I've been experimenting with lighting angles with my one flash as well as backgrounds. I've also been playing around with a black background as well. It has made post processing so much easier.

Here's one of my latest tries with a fishing lure as that seemed an appropriate thing to drop in water!
